On Tuesday, November 21st, morning show hosts Jen Pirak and Curt Kruse made a surprise visit to Sunnycrest Elementary School to honor Ms. Allison Moore as STAR 101.5’s Teacher of the Week.
Ms. Moore is a 3rd grade teacher at Sunnycrest Elementary in Lake Stevens. Along with being named STAR 101.5’s Teacher of the Week, Ms. Moore and her students were presented with gifts from the Washington State Potato Commission and McDonalds. She also received an award plaque, and a check for $101.5 to help pay for classroom supplies. She received several nominations for this award, praising her teaching ability and highlighting how much she cares about her students.
This is Ms. Moore’s first year teaching, but she has been working with kids for the last several years while also pursuing her teaching degree. In one of the nominations, her mother Elaine described as someone who, “has the best heart and cares about each individual child”.
Although she just started her teaching career, Ms. Moore’s passion to work with and educate children is nothing new. When asked about her favorite part of being a teacher, she said, “I love being able to see the kids grow over the years, I love to be around them and it’s just great to see their accomplishments.”
