University Place, WA – On Monday, November 6th, Morning show hosts Jen Pirak and Curt Kruse made a surprise visit to Evergreen Primary School to honor Ms. Maggie Burdick as STAR 101.5’s teacher of the week.
Ms. Burdick teaches kindergarten at Evergreen Primary School. Along with being named STAR 101.5’s Teacher of the Week, he was presented with gifts, an award plaque, and a check for $101.5 to help pay for classroom supplies. Ms. Burdick was nominated for this honor by the mom of a current kindergarten student.
Kaitlyn and her son Sullivan nominated Ms. Burdick, saying, “Ms. Burdick is such a joy to have as my son’s teacher. She makes him and all of her students feel loved and welcomed. My son loves going to school because of her”. Kaitlyn also mentioned that it’s obvious she adores her students, and her students adore her.
Ms. Burdick loves to work with kids, and when asked about her favorite part of being a teacher she said, “Being able to build a relationship with my students so that they feel comfortable and welcome in my classroom.” Being a part of her students’ educational journeys from the beginning is something she doesn’t take for granted; she strives to instill an early desire for learning within all of her students.
